### Vitalik Buterin Responds to Ethereum Foundation Controversy#

Vitalik Buterin addressed the controversy surrounding the Ethereum Foundation (EF) leadership changes on social media. He clarified that he currently holds the decision-making power for the new EF leadership team. The ongoing reforms aim to introduce a formal board of directors to the foundation, but until that happens, the decision-making power remains with him. Buterin criticized the pressure tactics on social media, stating that they disrupt the working environment for talented developers and make EF management more difficult. He pointed out that this behavior is not conducive to achieving the goals and instead diminishes his interest in accommodating such demands. Additionally, he defended Aya Miyaguchi against attacks, arguing that the relevant quotes were mistranslated and criticized the attacks as "pure malice." Buterin believes that the EF should focus on core Ethereum areas where it can effectively represent the project, while creating space for other organizations (like Consensys or similar entities) to develop other aspects of the ecosystem in a more suitable manner. He suggests that some areas may even be more suited to a profit-oriented operating model. He believes that the EF should not "half-heartedly" operate but should confidently represent the aspects of Ethereum it can effectively represent. It should intentionally create and nurture open spaces for other organizations to represent other aspects of Ethereum.
