#Vitalik Responds to Foundation Controversy#

Vitalik Buterin recently responded to the controversy surrounding the leadership changes at the Ethereum Foundation (EF) on social media. He made it clear that he currently holds the decision-making power for the new EF leadership team. The ongoing reforms aim to introduce a formal board of directors to the foundation, but until then, decision-making authority still rests with him. Vitalik criticized the pressure tactics on social media, stating that they are detrimental to the working environment for excellent developers and make managing the EF more difficult. He pointed out that this behavior is not only unhelpful in achieving the goals but also reduces his interest in catering to these demands. Additionally, he defended Aya Miyaguchi, indicating that the relevant quotes have been misinterpreted due to translation inaccuracies, and criticized the attacks against her as "pure malice." Vitalik also stated that the EF should focus on the core aspects of Ethereum that it can effectively represent, while creating space for other organizations (like Consensys or similar institutions) to develop other aspects of the ecosystem in a more suitable form, with some areas even being better suited to profit-driven models. He believes that the EF should not "half-heartedly" attempt to do everything but rather confidently represent the aspects of Ethereum it can effectively represent and intentionally create and foster open space for other organizations to represent other aspects of Ethereum.
