President Javier Milei’s administration seems adamant about establishing clear rules for cryptocurrency companies setting up in Argentina. The CNV, Argentina’s securities and digital currency regulator, has recently partnered with its partner institution in El Salvador, the CNAD, to collaborate and exchange information regarding supervising and regulating virtual asset service providers (VASPs).

According to a press release, this agreement will serve to “promote the integrity, efficiency, and financial soundness of supervised entities, improving effective regulation and creating an enabling environment for the prevention of fraudulent and other prohibited practices.”

Roberto Silva, CNV’s president, highlighted the relevance of this partnership, remarking on the Salvadoran institution’s expertise in the digital asset regulation field. On this, he declared:

El Salvador has shown leadership, not only in the use of bitcoin, but also in the world of digital assets and their service providers. from the CNV, we want to work with them for their valuable experience.

The agreement follows a series of meetings between officials of the two institutions held in March and May to discuss possible collaborations on these issues.
