#Aave Founder Proposes Ethereum Foundation Reform#

Aave founder Stani Kulechov recently proposed 12 reforms for the Ethereum Foundation (EF) budget and operational structure, aiming to address the EF's current issues of excessive spending and fund management, and achieve sustainable development. He suggested cutting the EF's annual budget from $130 million to $30 million, limiting the number of employees to 80, and optimizing the team structure, ensuring 80% of team members are technical personnel, divided into small 5-person technical teams, each focusing on a specific area. Additionally, he proposed establishing a 5-member leadership committee, chaired by Vitalik Buterin, and strengthening fund management, diversifying investments into low-risk long-term assets, DeFi projects, and profitable projects within the Ethereum ecosystem, converting staking rewards to stablecoins, and generating additional income through DeFi. Finally, he suggested building a sustainable revenue model through transaction fees or staking rewards to support a reasonable EF budget. Stani emphasized that the current team size is too large, leading to communication breakdowns, and proposed streamlining to a more efficient size, focusing on long-term sustainable development. Meanwhile, Vitalik Buterin also announced changes in the Ethereum Foundation leadership, stating that he would alter the leadership structure to achieve five objectives. These reform suggestions have sparked widespread discussion in the community, with further deliberation needed regarding the future direction of the EF and how to better manage and utilize its resources.
