Will RWA be the main focus in 2025 and the future?
Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to read a few articles, and since then I have believed that RWA is the mainstream of the future. Although many people laughed at me for being foolish and ignorant at that time, I still silently worked hard.
Why do I keep following RWA? Look at this circle, in the past 10 years, every project has talked about innovation, development, expansion, and revolution.
But in the end, a bear market cannot avoid collapse, with empty buildings and projects returning to zero.
That's why there are comments in the cryptocurrency circle about buying new rather than old, and RWA, as we all know, is a way to link real assets to the chain, at least to find people when things go wrong.
One of the projects representing RWA that I have been supporting since last year is @ Lumenetwork. Recently, the boss @ chriseyin discussed the topic of tokenized stock refining on @ TheBlock__, and one of the quoted paragraphs is as follows:
Stablecoins were the first type of RWA, and it took us over 10 years to regulate them.
The boundary between traditional finance and cryptocurrency will become increasingly blurred, and at some point, they will become difficult to distinguish. By then, cryptocurrencies and tokens will be the same for everyone as anything else. For me, this is where things start to become truly interesting.
The above paragraph by Chris Yi has made me ponder for a long time. Does RWA conflict with the original intention of decentralization?
The following are the conclusions I have drawn from feeding ChatGPT:
RWA There are indeed some potential tensions or contradictions between decentralization and decentralization, but many people believe that the two can complement and coexist. The following is an analysis from different perspectives:
1、 Conceptual conflict
The original meaning of decentralization:
1. Eliminate intermediary agencies and establish a trustless system.
2. Transparent, tamper proof, anyone can participate without permission (permissionless).
3. Autonomy and resistance to censorship.
The essence of RWA:
1. It is an on chain representation of off chain assets such as real estate, bonds, art, accounts receivable, etc.
2. Need to rely on centralized entities for hosting, verification, and execution of legal contracts.
3. It is necessary to 'trust someone' to ensure that assets truly exist and can be recovered.
Therefore, the conflict lies in:
RWA The introduction of trust institutions and legal systems violates the core concept of decentralized systems that do not require trust from third parties.
2、 Compromise between Technology and Practicality
Although there may be conceptual conflicts, from a practical perspective:
The value of memory blockchain lies not only in its concept, but also in solving real-world problems.
RWA has brought the cryptocurrency market into line with the real economy, expanding the application scenarios and overall market value of memory blockchain.
Many DeFi protocols (such as MakerDAO, Centrifuge, Maple Finance) have started accepting RWA as collateral.
3、 Potential fusion methods
Although most of the current RWA models are still centralized, there are also efforts to make them more decentralized, such as:
1. Use a multi signature wallet to manage asset custody permissions.
3. Introduce DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) to make decisions on asset processes and risk control.
3. Use Oracle (oracle)+legal framework for semi automated asset verification.
These are the bridges that gradually bring RWA and decentralization concepts closer together.
Summary:
Concept - Conflict
Practical - Compatible
Future possibilities - Fusible
First of all, I apologize for the length of this article. Additionally, I would like to discuss another topic with you, which is why RWA can reach $50 billion in TVL by 2025. Please take a look at the cited article.
And what will be the future development of Stonks, which I have recently supported, in the R W A field@ BTCBruce1
