Part of the idea behind the Mar-A-Lao accord is to get Europe to pay for their security.  It is happening *MERZ IN TALKS WITH GERMAN SPD TO RUSH THROUGH DEFENSE FUNDING The debt swap (Tsys for 100-year zero-coupon bonds)was just a way to get paid. It may happen, it may not. The bottom line is that the US is getting defense spending relief from Europe. Up for debate are other means of payment (potential debt swap).
