Running Alpha:
Everybody who runs/cycles year round (applies to winter sports) knows that big key of doing your favorite sports during cold is correct approach to layering, as the key objective is to
- control your body temperature and your sweat
You dress too much, you sweat too much, you need to drink a lot more, you get more tired, if you stop for a little bit, significantly higher risk of catching a cold etc.
= you want to minimize taking layers on and off at all times as its dead weight anyways
It took me 10000km+ to figure out perfect layering system for current weather around 3-7 degrees Celsius (37-42 F)
Very short shorts (13inches), taller socks (ensure your achilles is protected/warm), short sleeve tshirt and sleeveless running vest + light gloves
this is major alpha/breakthrough for me this season as this is perfect combination of
- keeping the HR low
- minimizing sweat
- lightweight as wearing close to nothing
- less laundry
- pro/con: cant stop as you will freeze fast
- you build your cold resistance like this too
