Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, Kraken co-CEO Arjun Sethi among others are slated to attend a crypto summit hosted by President Donald Trump in Washington D.C.

A Chainlink spokesperson confirmed that Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov will also be going. Representatives for Coinbase and Kraken also confirmed Armstrong's and Sethi's attendance.

The White House announced it would be hosting the summit over the weekend. Trump will address "prominent founders, CEOs and investors from the crypto industry" at the event, which will be chaired by AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks and run by Bo Hines, the director of Trump's working group on digital assets. The summit will start at 1:30 p.m. ET, according to a source familiar with the event.

Strategy founder Michael Saylor, Exodus CEO JP Richardson and Paradigm co-founder Matt Huang will also be going, according to posts on X on Tuesday.

"I look forward to discussing how America can take a leadership role in promoting the principles of open crypto and enabling builders in ecosystems such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana," Huang said on X.

The Trump administration has taken a friendlier approach to crypto over the past several weeks, with several statements made by the sitting president to ensure that the U.S. will be the "crypto capital."

One topic that is likely to come up during the summit is Trump's push for a working group to "move forward" on a "Crypto Strategic Reserve."

Trump proposed having the reserve hold "U.S.-based coins" including Cardano, Solana and XRP as well as the two largest cryptocurrencies Bitcoin and Ethereum. Some industry experts have since questioned the inclusion of these altcoins, arguing that they lack the developer activity and decentralization of Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The summit also comes amid significant changes at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission following the departure of former SEC Chair Gary Gensler in January. Over the past few weeks, the agency has dropped lawsuits against Kraken, Consensys and Coinbase, as well as probes into Gemini and Yuga Labs, among others. On Tuesday, Cumberland DRW said the SEC had agreed to drop its lawsuit against it.

"After the previous administration unfairly prosecuted the digital asset space, President Trump’s policy vision represents a new era for digital financial technology," a White House statement on Saturday says.
