Ethereum mobile basketball game Rumble Kong League will launch its FAME token on gaming-focused Ethereum sidechain network Ronin on March 11, following its recent migration to the chain from Avalanche.
FAME, which will act as the project’s utility token in an ecosystem of sports-related endeavors, will have a total supply of 7 billion tokens.
“From hoops to the future of sports gaming, FAME fuels competition, culture, community and the Rumble Kong League,” the project posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Originally announced as early as July 2024, the token will provide 50% of its supply to community-related incentives, including 30%—or 2.1 billion FAME tokens—for its community airdrop, staking rewards, and Rumble Kong League NFT holders.
Meanwhile, an additional 2% of supply—or 140 million FAME tokens—will be available to those who participated in the project’s Season 1 “play-to-airdrop” campaign via the Rumble Kong League mobile game on Android or iOS devices.
Approximately 25% of the FAME token supply is set aside for the team and advisors, subject to a six-month cliff and 24-month vesting period. A full tokenomics update was released on February 11, further detailing those eligible for FAME tokens in the near future.
In addition to the airdrop rewards, the project is conducting a ”community round” sale via Ronin Launchpad, allowing interested parties to purchase the FAME token at price of $0.00429 apiece before the token is generated on March 11.
Rumble Kong League announced its plans to migrate to Ronin in January, ditching its long-standing plans to utilize layer-1 network Avalanche.
Led by its flagship 3v3 basketball game, the project has been connected to NBA stars Paul George and Stephen Curry, with Curry’s Penny Jar Capital investing in the project. The game has also partnered with widely recognized brands like Gatorade and Stance.
