Crypto exchange Binance revealed on Feb. 20 that CEO Richard Teng recently met with Raymond Lam Cheuk Ho, Chief Superintendent of the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF), to enhance cooperation in tackling financial crimes related to virtual assets.

The discussion focused on strengthening public-private collaboration to combat cyber threats and illicit activities within the blockchain ecosystem. Binance detailed:

The two leaders exchanged views on a range of topics, including expanding and strengthening public-private collaboration on the cyber defense in the blockchain ecosystem, as well as enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies amid the increasing sophistication of threats and criminals’ technological savvy.

The meeting underscored Binance’s commitment to working with law enforcement to protect the integrity of digital assets.

During the event, Chief Superintendent Lam presented Binance with a letter of appreciation and a commemorative plaque, acknowledging the company’s longstanding support of Hong Kong law enforcement. The HKPF highlighted Binance’s contributions to solving complex cybercrime cases and ensuring the security of the industry. Binance has actively engaged with global law enforcement agencies by assisting in investigations and sharing expertise.
