Jack Mallers, CEO of Zap, stated that Ripple, a cryptocurrency company, was actively lobbying against a strategic bitcoin reserve. In what he called an emergency press conference on social media, Mallers claimed that Ripple was “actively spending” millions of dollars trying to undermine a strategic bitcoin reserve in the U.S. Mallers revealed that Ripple would be asking the U.S. government to include XRP and support it as part of this hypothetical stockpile. “This is corporate lobbying disguised as innovation,” Mallers stated, as he called their followers to contact their representatives to investigate Ripple’s lobbying efforts. “It’s up to us to decide,” he concluded.
