Ethereum seems to be ready to execute a pivot in the way that the Ethereum Foundation (EF) has been conducting its activities, seeking to improve its action in the Ethereum ecosystem.

Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of Ethereum and the most visible leader of the project, disclosed that the foundation was in the process of making large changes to its leadership structure, which have been reportedly happening for over a year.

He remarked that the foundation was trying to reach several goals, mostly focused on improving the speed and effectiveness of its actions towards ethereum users and developers. Among these are improving its level of tech leadership, improving its comms channels with ETH community actors, attracting fresh talent to the foundation, supporting app builders more actively, and increasing the use of the tech part of the Ethereum chain.

Nonetheless, Buterin remarked that this change would not include an mindset shift that would take the foundation to “execute some kind of ideological / vibez pivot from feminized wef soyboy mentality to bronze age mindset.”

Buterin also opposed lobby activities seeking to attract regulators and powerful political figures. According to his vision, this would risk ending Ethereum’s position as a global neutral platform.

He also listed as non-goals becoming an arena for vested interests and increasing the organization’s influence in the Ethereum ecosystem, seeking to become a “main character.”

“These things aren’t what EF does and this isn’t going to change. People seeking a different vision are welcome to start their own orgs,” Buterin concluded.

Buterin’s post seems to be an answer to the criticism that has been directed toward the Ethereum Foundation. In October, Buterin had to defend the organization’s actions on social media, calling critics to show some respect, and justifying the foundation’s ETH sales, which paid for researchers and developers in charge of key changes in the ecosystem.
