Bitmain shared on Monday through an X post that it plans to kick off a new production line in the United States. “Bitmain is thrilled to announce the launch of its new production line in the United States,” the ASIC manufacturer stated. “This strategic move aims to provide faster response times and more efficient services to the North American customers.”

Founded in 2013, the company has been at the forefront of bitcoin mining hardware, launching its first device, the Antminer S1, in Nov. 2013. The S1 reportedly delivered around 180 gigahash per second (GH/s), while Bitmain’s latest innovation, the Antminer S21e XP Hydro 3U, set to debut in 2025, boasts an impressive output of approximately 860 terahash per second (TH/s).

On Monday, Bitmain revealed that the initial batch of Antminer S21 Pro devices will roll out this month, courtesy of the new U.S. production line. “The first batch of Antminer S21 Pro units will be delivered this December, providing a significant boost to our partners’ mining competitiveness,” the company explained on X.

Setting up operations in the U.S. comes with its perks, especially since the country now accounts for a significant share of the global hashrate. On top of that, the timing might feel right to Bitmain with the Trump administration stepping in. This move could be a strategic play—either to seize the moment or to sidestep higher tariffs expected on Chinese imports by establishing a production line stateside.
