The Associated Press (AP) and multiple news outlets have declared Donald Trump the 47th president of the United States. Trump clinched victory with a decisive 277 electoral college votes and a majority in the popular vote, amassing 70,973,208 votes (51%) compared to Kamala Harris’s 66,069,781 votes (47.5%). Harris, however, has yet to concede.

Harris canceled her anticipated election night appearance at Howard University in Washington, D.C., after Trump’s polling numbers surged significantly. Once news outlets announced the winner, betting platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket hit a full 100% in favor of Trump, and bets were quickly settled. Trump’s polling gains sparked an outpouring of reactions across the board.

“The Democratic Party proved itself to be fundamentally undemocratic. It needs a complete reboot,” explained the CEO of Pershing Square Bill Ackman. “The leadership should be thrown out and those responsible should apologize to the American people.” The Republican Kentucky representative Thomas Massie also shared his two cents.

“They tried to impeach him, silence him, convict him, and shoot him,” Massie wrote on X. “Trump survived all of it, so they overturned their own election in a soft coup on President Biden. And he beat them anyway. We beat them. We must not squander this moment in history. The fight has just begun.”

In U.S. futures, equities markets are poised to open strong, with all major benchmark indices showing gains. Bitcoin (BTC) has crossed the $74,000 mark, while gold and silver prices have each slipped by 1 to 2 percentage points.
