Nearly 40 countries are expected to take part in the BRICS Plus/Outreach session during the final day of the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, according to the Kremlin’s press release. Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to participate in the BRICS Summit, held under Russia’s 2024 BRICS chairmanship. The announcement details:

On the last day of the summit, there will be a meeting in the BRICS Plus/Outreach format with the participation of representatives from almost 40 countries.

Participants will include leaders from Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, along with delegations from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, as well as representatives from various international organizations.

The BRICS Summit, an annual gathering of BRICS leaders, will be hosted by Russia in 2024 from Oct. 22 to 24 in Kazan. Discussions will cover cooperation in areas such as politics, security, economics, and culture, with a particular focus on economic growth, global security, and sustainable development.

A central topic will be the potential enlargement of BRICS through the creation of a new “partner states” category, intended to extend the group’s global footprint. Additional reports will come from organizations tied to BRICS, such as the New Development Bank, the BRICS Business Council, the Interbank Cooperation Mechanism, and the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance. The Kazan summit is set to play a pivotal role in promoting multilateral efforts to tackle global challenges and foster stability. The Kremlin has underscored the importance of these discussions in shaping global policy and advancing equitable development.
