Viewers tuned in for an insider’s perspective on the technology that revolutionized finance, but the film also explored the mystery surrounding the true identity of Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.

In a startling twist, “Money Electric” pointed to software developer Peter Todd as the key figure behind the pseudonymous Nakamoto. Todd firmly denies the notion. “Of course I’m not Satoshi,” Todd explained to the Coindesk reporters Marc Hochstein, and Cheyenne Ligon before the film aired. Castle Island Ventures Founding Partner Nic Carter told Politico he doesn’t believe Todd is Bitcoin’s creator.
