Switzerland’s largest cantonal bank, Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB), has partnered with Crypto Finance AG to offer crypto asset brokerage services. Through the partnership, clients can access bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) trading via ZKB’s existing mobile app, e-banking, and other established channels.

According to a statement, the collaboration provides prospective crypto users with a legitimate platform for engaging in digital assets. Retail clients and third-party banks are ZKB’s prospective clients. Commenting on the offering, Peter Hubli, head of digital asset solutions at ZKB, said:

With Crypto Finance, we have an experienced, regulated, and competent partner at our side with long-lasting industry expertise, mastering the facets of the crypto business.

In addition to providing ZKB clients access to crypto assets, the collaboration indicates the growing depth of digital assets in traditional finance. The partnership also demonstrates Switzerland’s growing position as a top hub for digital assets and financial technology.

Meanwhile, Stijn Vander Straeten, CEO of Crypto Finance AG, expressed delight at his firm’s role in helping ZKB launch the crypto offering. Straeten also described the launch as an “important milestone for the broad acceptance of crypto in Switzerland.”
