The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Lucerne (Switzerland) has surprised the country’s citizens by announcing that it is already accepting payments with Bitcoin. And through a partnership with the representatives of Bitcoin Suisse AG – a brokerage company based in Zug -, who will manage the payments of the students to exchange them in Swiss francs, the adepts to the cryptocurrencies can pay their studies using the financial system that is most to your liking.

According to the University:

“Bitcoin Suisse AG will bear the risk of currency losses and fluctuations”.

The statement states that they do not expect massive adoption or anything like that since it is only logical that only the most assiduous in the field of finance or the staunch sympathizers of cryptocurrencies are inclined to this method of payment.

In this way, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Lucerne becomes the most recent institute in embracing the funding of Bitcoin, in the style of King’s College campus in New York, the University of Nicosia in Cyprus and the University of Cumbria in the United Kingdom.

Considering the remarkable interest that the institute had shown towards digital assets, some people will be very happy with the announcement. It is worth noting that University researchers are involved in the development of Blockchain tools, including an Ethereum-based identity solution that promises to leave behind complicated and non-avant-garde approaches, taking advantage of the uPort identity platform created by the Ethereum team ConsenSys.
