#Ethereum Foundation Gets New Leadership#

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is undergoing a significant leadership restructuring, a process that has been ongoing for nearly a year. Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin posted an update about this adjustment on social media, outlining the EF's goals and non-goals.The EF's goals include: enhancing leadership's technical capabilities, improving two-way communication with ecosystem stakeholders (including users, application developers, wallets, and L2s), strengthening execution and speed, attracting new talent, actively supporting application developers, and ensuring that core values like privacy, open source, and censorship resistance are implemented at the application layer.The EF's non-goals include: implementing any kind of ideological/atmospheric shift, actively lobbying regulators and powerful political figures, becoming an arena for vested interests, becoming a highly centralized organization, or even becoming the "protagonist" of Ethereum.This adjustment stems from widespread criticism from the community, who have argued that the EF's leadership lacks technical expertise, has insufficient communication with ecosystem participants, and has a weak execution record. Vitalik Buterin emphasized that the EF should more actively support application developers and ensure Ethereum's position as a globally neutral platform.This adjustment also reflects the development trends of the Ethereum ecosystem, where more and more power and responsibility are shifting from the EF to the community. Vitalik Buterin called for the establishment of a network that can thrive without the EF, in order to achieve true decentralization.
