Adam Izhar, who called himself the "Crypto Godfather," and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Chase Saviedra have pleaded guilty to charges including extortion, racketeering, and tax fraud. Saviedra, using his position, helped Izhar commit crimes by illegally obtaining search warrants and providing Izhar with confidential information about "enemies." The pair had tracked a victim's location, attempting to steal a laptop believed to contain $100 million in cryptocurrency, but the plan was foiled when the victim fired a gun. Izhar faces a maximum of 35 years in prison, while Saviedra could be sentenced to 13 years.
