Biotech entrepreneur and cryptocurrency advocate Vivek Ramaswamy is planning to run for Governor of Ohio and will formally announce his candidacy soon. He previously expressed support for the freedom of self-custody wallets, free from regulatory restrictions, during his presidential campaign. Ramaswamy served as a campaign surrogate for Donald Trump and co-led the American Efficiency Department with Elon Musk, focused on cutting regulations and restructuring federal agencies. His gubernatorial bid has garnered significant attention, particularly in the cryptocurrency sphere, as Ohio has proposed cryptocurrency-related legislation such as establishing a state-backed bitcoin reserve. Ramaswamy's campaign platform has yet to be released but is expected to revolve around his core values, including free markets, individual liberty, and technological innovation.
