#Myanmar's Northern Telecom Fraud Group Eliminated#

The Ministry of Public Security recently announced that by the end of 2024, a total of over 53,000 Chinese nationals suspected of fraud had been apprehended. The notorious "Four Major Families" criminal group in Kachin State, Myanmar, near the Chinese border, has been completely dismantled, and all large-scale telecommunications fraud parks in the region have been eradicated. The special campaign has achieved significant interim results, leading to a substantial decrease in the number of telecommunications network fraud cases and losses nationwide. Currently, the cases involving the "Four Major Families" criminal group are gradually entering the litigation stage. Despite the significant achievements in combating and governing this crime, the current criminal situation remains severe and complex. This includes: the escalating intensity of the offensive and defensive struggle, with fraud groups utilizing new technologies such as blockchain, virtual currency, and AI intelligence to continuously upgrade their criminal tools. This means that although the telecommunications fraud groups in northern Myanmar have been eradicated, the fight against telecommunications network fraud remains a long and arduous task. It requires continuous strengthening of international cooperation and constant improvement in crime-fighting capabilities to effectively curb the spread of telecommunications network fraud.
