OpenAI appoints BlackRock executive Adebayo Ogunlesi as board member

OpenAI announces the appointment of Adebayo "Bayo" Ogunlesi, a senior executive at investment firm BlackRock, as a member of its board of directors. Ogunlesi is currently a Senior Management Director and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners at BlackRock, with extensive experience in global organizational management. He has held multiple senior positions at Credit Suisse and served as a legal assistant to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. His joining will strengthen the OpenAI board's capabilities in AI security, cybersecurity, regulation, and economics to drive the development of General Artificial Intelligence (AGI).
