Foresight News reported that according to Politico cited by The Block, Trump administration officials are pushing for reforms to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and considering adopting blockchain technology to increase transparency in the flow of funds. A document circulating in the US State Department shows that the proposed "modern, performance-based procurement" process suggests that "all fund allocations will be securely tracked through blockchain technology," but it is unclear which blockchain model (public chain, private chain, or hybrid chain) will be used. The proposal echoes the recommendations of the government efficiency group DOGE led by Elon Musk, which has pushed for significant reductions in USAID and explored the possibility of blockchain based government systems. According to reports, the Trump administration plans to reshape USAID to focus more on global health, food security, and disaster response, and may rename it as the International Humanitarian Aid Agency (IHA). At present, the proposal has not been approved by Secretary of State Marco Rubio or other senior officials, and some changes may require congressional authorization.
