Progress of JPEX case in Hong Kong: Police received 2636 reports, with a quarter stating that they will no longer pursue further action

According to Hong Kong media Ming Pao, the Special Finance Committee of the Hong Kong Legislative Council has released a document announcing the progress of the JPEX case. As of February 28 this year, the police have received 2636 reports involving approximately HKD 1.616 billion, arrested a total of 80 people, and frozen assets totaling approximately HKD 228 million, including property assets, luxury cars, bank account balances, cash, and approximately HKD 14.5 million worth of cryptocurrency. Among them, 1311 complainants have taken statements, another 666 have stated that they will not pursue the matter, and the remaining 659 have not been contacted; The Hong Kong police stated that the case is still under investigation, including seeking legal advice from the Department of Justice on the evidence involving different parties involved.
