Odaily Planet Daily News: According to data from CME Fedwatch, after the Federal Reserve cut interest rates by 50 basis points in September, the federal funds futures rate market expects the possibility of the Fed further cutting interest rates by 175 basis points or more by June next year to soar to 77%. Traders now believe that the possibility of the Federal Reserve cutting interest rates significantly again during this period has returned to zero.
The Federal Reserve's past forecasts have been consistently poor. Skeptics, including Wall Street Journal columnist James Mackintosh, point out that there is widespread disagreement among Fed policy makers on where interest rates will ultimately stay. (Golden Ten)
