South Korean official sentenced to five years in prison for embezzling $427800 to invest in cryptocurrency and stocks

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Cheongju District Court in South Korea sentenced a public official of the Cheongju City Government to five years in prison for embezzlement of public funds. In the seven years starting from January 2017, he misappropriated 600 million Korean won (427800 US dollars) for investing in cryptocurrencies and stocks, as well as repaying personal debts. According to reports, he forged official documents in the plan.
