According to Bitcoin.com, the biometric encrypted ID project World Network (formerly Worldcoin) has launched the "Build Latam" program in Latin America, allocating 1 million WLD tokens (approximately $4.8 million) to 15 regional projects to promote its iris biometric and digital identity system. The project was first launched in Argentina, where over 2.2 million residents have completed iris verification through Orb devices, making it one of the regions with the highest participation rates in the world.
Martin Mazza, the Latin American regional manager of Worldcoin, revealed that since October last year, the project has adopted "anonymous multi-party computing" (AMPC) technology to enhance data security, storing user biometric data in shards in databases managed by different universities. Mazza emphasized that user verification rewards are only issued in the form of WLD tokens, which grant holders network governance rights.
