The "new world order" in the US treasury bond bond market triggered concerns about long-term US bonds

Golden Finance reported that the "selling US bonds" transaction that swept the market earlier in April may cause a lasting blow to investors' willingness to hold the longest dated US government bonds (the main pillar of the US government's deficit financing tool). For bond managers at BlackRock, Brandy Wan Global Investment Management, and Vanguard Group, the problem is that as US President Trump approaches 100 days in office, he has created more and more unknowns, forcing traders to focus on a wide range of issues beyond possible interest rate movements. The result has led bond buyers to question the traditional safe haven status of US government debt and demand higher yields on longer-term bonds.
