According to CoinDesk, Paul Atkins has been sworn in as the Chairman of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Gary Gensler's leadership transition has been officially completed. Atkins has previously collaborated with digital asset companies and is expected to continue the interim leadership's reversal of the SEC's previous cryptocurrency boycott. Atkins said he is honored by the trust and confidence of Trump and the US Senate in him, and is pleased to begin working with other members.
Atkins was approved by the Senate earlier this month as President Trump's nominee. Previously, he served as a member of the US SEC and ran a Washington consulting firm focused on compliance and policy affairs. In addition to his connections on Wall Street, Atkins also serves as a consultant for cryptocurrency companies.
