BlockBeats News: On April 21st, Tomasz K. Sta ń czak, Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation, stated that "with the recent changes in the leadership of the Ethereum Foundation, more time will be freed up for Vitalik to conduct research and exploration, rather than daily coordination or crisis response. Every time Vitalik shares insights or conveys direction, he accelerates significant long-term breakthroughs. His recent posts on RISC-V and zkVMs have advanced promising research directions, and his articles on privacy have helped the community refocus on the core values of the Ethereum Foundation
I want to make it clear that Vitalik's proposals always carry significant weight, but they aim to initiate discussions and drive progress in challenging research areas. Community review may significantly modify or even reject these proposals. We hope that other researchers can also enjoy the same freedom, as they have shown courage by posing sharp questions and alternative solutions. Maintaining focus is crucial, and within the foundation, we will shift most of our research efforts towards short-term goals, addressing user experience and scalability challenges in two future protocol upgrades
The Ethereum Foundation is focusing on first layer scaling, supporting second layer scaling, and achieving significant user experience improvements (including interoperability) in Pectra, Fusaka, and Glamsterdam upgrades. At the same time, it is exploring how to advance projects that currently seem to take three to five years, and help some of them land within one or two years through initiatives such as next-generation execution layers and consensus layers
BlockBeats previously reported that the Ethereum Foundation announced a new leadership structure, with Hsiao Wei Wang and Tomasz Sta ń czak serving as co executive directors starting from March 17th.
