BlockBeats News: On April 18th, the Trump administration is seeking to transfer California Governor Newson's legal challenge to the US tariff plan from the San Francisco Federal Court to the New York International Trade Court. Lawyers from the US Department of Justice filed a request on Thursday to transfer the case from Newson's territory, arguing that the trade court has "exclusive jurisdiction" over disputes related to tariffs. The Democratic governor of the most populous state is considered a potential presidential candidate for 2028. On Wednesday, Newson and California Attorney General Rob Bonta jointly sued the President. They are trying to prevent Trump from using emergency powers to impose extensive tariffs on countries such as Mexico and Canada. Newson and Bonta listed the damages suffered by California consumers and businesses, including agriculture and entertainment industries. If calculated by economic aggregate, California can be regarded as the "fifth largest economy in the world". Trump's tariffs face at least three other legal challenges, with two complaints filed by conservative legal advocacy groups representing small businesses and a third by members of the Montana Blackfoot community.
