The State Council Tariff Commission announced that from April 12, 2025, the tariff rate on imported goods originating in the United States will be increased from 84% to 125%. This adjustment is based on relevant Chinese laws and regulations and basic principles of international law, and has been approved by the State Council. The committee pointed out that even if the US continues to impose tariffs, it has no economic significance and will become a joke in world economic history. At the current tariff level, there is no market acceptance possibility for US goods exported to China. If the US continues to play the numerical game of tariffs, China will ignore it. However, if the US insists on substantially infringing on China's interests, China will resolutely counter and accompany it to the end. Other related matters will continue to be executed according to the previous announcement.
