It is always a special occasion when we come together to celebrate progress; real, tangible, and meaningful progress in the lives of our people. Today marks one such moment with the commissioning of Phase One of the Rhyne Park Water Supply Improvement Project. This project is a clear signal of my Government’s commitment to inclusive development, to modern, reliable public services, and most importantly , to keeping the promises we have made to the Jamaican people. Water is not a luxury. It is not a privilege. It is a basic human necessity, and ensuring access to clean, safe, and consistent water is a responsibility that I take very seriously. Over the last five years, we have taken decisive action to address the longstanding water challenges facing communities across Jamaica. As of this fiscal year, more than 150,000 Jamaicans now enjoy improved access to water, thanks to our focused and sustained investments in water infrastructure. Your Government does not just speak about transformation, we deliver it! And we do so with a clear understanding that every pipe laid, every tank installed, and every connection made represents a family, a school, a business , a life improved. This project is a victory for the residents of Rhyne Park and surrounding communities. And it is only the beginning. We will continue to work to extend access, improve quality, and build out the infrastructure that our people deserve.
