Even more reason today that Powell should be cutting rates. Most have it completely wrong when it comes to monetary policy, thinking the economy has to be in shambles in order to cut rates. In our case, that's complete nonsense. Only reason we raised rates so high in the US by 500 BP was to combat our raging CPI and now that it's VERY TAMED, pretty much at the Fed's target of 2.0%, it's unhealthy and unnecessary to keep interest rates so high and for so long.
