China's tariff countermeasures have arrived as scheduled, with a first tariff increase of 34% and a second tariff countermeasure of 50%. China's total tariff on US imports has increased to 84% (without a basic tariff countermeasure of 20%). In fact, after a tariff of over 50%, the rest is just a numbers game, and the trade between the two countries has almost reached freezing point.
The US tariff on China at 104% has almost no meaning of increasing, but in the future, the US is likely to demand a reduction in tariffs from other countries in order to make third-party countries increase their tariffs on China, as Vietnam is currently implementing.
So it is very likely that the United States will release a second phase of tariff reversal, lowering US tariffs by raising tariffs on China. I even believe that the White House may have thought of this early on. If it really starts to be implemented, what will China's countermeasures be like?
