According to a report by Golden Finance, UBS analysts stated in a research report that in the tough retail industry, industry participants expect suppliers, retailers, and consumers to roughly evenly bear the additional costs of tariffs, but this trend will not occur in a linear manner. The higher the tariffs, the more likely the increased costs are to be borne by consumers, "analysts said, stating that on average, each household will need to absorb about $775 in retail price increases. Analysts say that given that about two-thirds of American households have an annual income of $100000 or less, such costs may be significant for most households. (Golden Ten)
