Dictatorships and non-democratic countries are abusing our laws in Western democracies, such as AML/CFT and cybersecurity regulations, to target regime critics, human rights activists, and others. We are on a dangerous path. What are our democracies worth if we cannot protect those who are fighting for democratic values in other countries and if we become the extended arm of autocrats?
