CME's daily trading volume of encrypted derivatives reached a record high of $11.3 billion in Q1

According to CoinDesk, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME) reported a daily average trading volume of 198000 contracts for cryptocurrency derivatives in the first quarter of 2025, with a nominal value of $11.3 billion, reaching a historic high. The trading volume of micro Ethereum futures reached 76000, and the annual growth rate of micro Bitcoin futures was 113%, with an average daily trading volume of 77000. Micro contracts have driven a surge in overall trading activity due to their low threshold and ease of risk management.
