According to Cointelegraph, 7-Eleven convenience stores in South Korea will participate in the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) payment test from April 1st to June 30th, during which using CBDC payment can enjoy a 10% discount on all categories. The national pilot program is led by the Bank of Korea and financial regulatory agencies, with a participation limit of 100000 people, covering multiple banks and retail channels. Users can convert their bank deposits into equivalent CBDCs for consumption. This project aims to promote the prototype construction of future currency systems.
