According to Cointelegraph, NFT project Gutter Cat Gang (GCG) encountered difficulties when launching its GANG token on Apechain on March 31, with third parties blaming it on "technical issues", but others have pointed out that there is reportedly low interest in the token. Although GCG sales data has not been released, it did state in its Discord post on March 31st that no GANG tokens were distributed due to "technical issues" with third parties.
GCG's Chief Architect "Yugen" wrote on GCG's Discord channel: "The bad news is that due to contract restrictions, we are unable to achieve 100% liquidity claim on the first day, which makes it impossible for participants to withdraw or deposit funds. We have tried to fix this issue for at least an hour, but have not been successful. Everyone will receive their GANG tokens, but today is not yet possible. I will let you know with a new specific date and time." Several X users claimed that GCG only raised 3.66 Ethereum tokens from GANG token community sales, worth about $6800, far below its claimed target of $1 million. However, GCG has not yet confirmed or responded to these numbers.
GCG was launched on June 8, 2021, initially as a collection of 3000 unique NFT avatars. According to NFT Price Floor data, GCG's NFT floor price reached 8.5 Ethereum (worth $15240) in September 2022, but has now fallen to 0.19 Ethereum. In October 2023, X user and NFT enthusiast "Mauroadream" (also known as Noah) acquired this NFT company for an undisclosed amount.
