Trump supports it! SEC's new chairman says crypto regulation will 'change' 1. Trump nominated Paul Atkins as the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where Atkins served from 2002 to 2008. He stated at the meeting on Thursday that he will launch the most sensitive digital asset regulatory guidelines in history after taking office. 2. The Senate Banking Committee will conduct an "interrogation" of Atkins tomorrow. He relied on his experience in digital asset "practice" to argue that regulatory ambiguity hinders innovation. 3. If the nomination is approved, he will use three tactics: fraud prevention, depoliticization, and investment promotion to support the development of the US economy. 4. Atkins currently leads Patomak Global Partners and owns a $6 million cryptocurrency investment empire, including Securitize and Anchorage Digital shares. To avoid suspicion, he has promised to sell off his holdings upon taking office. Behind it, the 'crypto czar' David Sachs has cleared 200 million assets. 5. At present, Atkins' nomination is basically stable, unless there is unexpected opposition, which netizens say will shake the encryption circle.
