According to the Android Authority, the development process of the Android system has been open to the public for many years, allowing the outside world to view Google's work progress. But this situation is about to change, and Google has confirmed that they will begin developing the Android operating system entirely within their internal branches. According to reports, Google has been secretly developing most of the components of Android in its "internal branch" for some time, and the AOSP branch (Android Open Source Project) only includes certain other aspects of the Android framework (including Bluetooth, kernel, and other core components). Therefore, there is already a significant gap between the current state of AOSP and Google's internal version, and developers and others have to wait for Google to release a public version in order to obtain all new changes. Closed door development may simplify the process and prevent conflicts during branch merging. Google also confirms that the company is committed to releasing the source code for Android, so this change does not mean that Android will become a closed source platform.
