Recognizing violence as a national emergency, your government has made historic investments in national security. ✅ Before 2015, capital expenditure for security was 2.67 billion dollars, but by 2018, it increased to 12.7 billion dollars, and in 2019, a record 19.5 billion dollars was invested to modernize the security apparatus. These funds have strengthened the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) through investments in equipment, vehicles, intelligence, forensic technology, and advanced training. ✅ The development of a state-of-the-art command and control center, the C5 Centre, will integrate and analyze real-time data from various sources, enhancing intelligence-driven policing. ✅ Your government's Project ROC initiative has modernized police facilities, and the Public Sector Compensation Review has improved salaries and pensions for police officers, boosting morale and making a career in the JCF more appealing. For the first time, the JCF has met its establishment strength of 14,000 officers, leading to better community coverage and faster responses to emergencies.
