Hong Kong police have cracked a virtual currency investment fraud case involving a total amount of HKD 72 million

According to the Hong Kong Business Daily, the Hong Kong police launched an arrest operation codenamed "Spyker" in Yau Tsim Sha Tsui from March 10 to 19, cracking down on fraud and money laundering. 45 cases were solved, 54 people were arrested, and losses amounted to HKD 194 million. The highest loss was in an online investment virtual currency fraud case, involving HKD 72 million. The victims were foreigners who were lured by fraudsters to invest in virtual currency and transfer money to designated bank accounts. After investigation, the police arrested two suspects (aged 30 and 34).
