Under the SPEED initiative, your first Certificate of Fitness for new motor vehicles will be issued for 5 years. For used vehicles, 10 years old or less, the validity period for Certificates of Fitness will be 3 years. For vehicles older than 10 years, the current yearly renewal will remain. Motor vehicle registration - Motorists currently have an option to renew motor vehicle registration for six months or for one year.
