Today, I shared during a media briefing key developments that reaffirm our commitment to transparency, accountability, and improving the lives of Batswana. These updates cover the Forensic Audit, the Judicial Commission of Inquiry on BCL and Tati Mines, the expansion of the Bonno Housing Scheme, and a significant reduction in household water tariffs.
FORENSIC AUDIT UNDERWAY
The Forensic Audit firm has been appointed and starts work immediately, with oversight from the Steering Committee comprising:

JUDICIAL COMMISSION OF INQUIRY ON CLOSURE OF BCL AND TATI MINES
•A Presidential Judicial Commission of Inquiry has been established to investigate the closure of BCL and Tati Nickel Mines.
EXPANSION OF BONNO HOUSING SCHEME
•100,000 Housing Units in Five Years
•The Bonno Housing Scheme has been launched to provide affordable housing.
•The scheme is now expanded to include government officers on the D4 salary scale and below.
•3,000 Housing Units at Kgale, Gaborone
•Strengthening efforts to increase housing accessibility.
30% REDUCTION IN HOUSEHOLD WATER TARIFFS
•To ease the cost of living, we have implemented a 30% reduction in household water tariffs.
