It’s unfathomable that we live in an age where mainstream media literally can’t say “Violence is bad. Don’t burn things down. Don’t hurt people,” because they want it to continue. They know they have full impunity because 1) There’s no consequences and 2) Republicans don’t fight back in this same way. If the violence was directed towards them it would be squashed in one minute with the full weight of the entire coordinated media. Violence is violence and it’s wrong regardless of side. It’s bipartisan. If you’re encouraging violence one day it will come for you, regardless of whether you believe it won’t. By media not condemning attacks they’re creating a golem that will begin to attack them too as the Overton window continues shifting the way it has been.
