🇿🇦 On March 15, hackers breached the South African parliament's social media accounts to promote a fake Solana-based cryptocurrency named after Cyril Ramaphosa. The token was created just 24 hours before the attack.
Hackers also created "ParliamentofRSA (RSATOKEN)" and targeted one of the parliament's 25 YouTube streaming channels. Officials confirmed the breach, which led to unauthorized uploads. 🎥⚠️
This follows similar attacks in Africa, including Kenya's DCI accounts and Tanzanian billionaire Mohammed Dewji's X account, where hackers stole over 1.4M.
What steps should institutions take to protect against such cyber threats?
