Recently, there has been a surge in fraudulent emails from cryptocurrency users reporting counterfeit Coinbase and Gemini. Scammers have induced users to create new wallets with pre generated mnemonic words. Once funds are deposited, the assets will be controlled by the fraudsters and may be immediately cleared. The email falsely claimed that due to a court ruling, the user needs to convert to a self custodial wallet and set April 1st as the conversion deadline. Coinbase has confirmed the scam and reminds the official not to provide mnemonic words. Users should not use mnemonic words provided by others. (Cointelegraph) https://www.
